One person was killed and four were injured in a traffic accident in Sarajevo, when a tram derailed near the National Museum. A man died in the accident in 2003, whose identity has been established, it was confirmed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS).

After today’s part of the investigation is completed, the tram will be transferred to the GRAS circuit and it will also be the subject of an expert examination.

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office announced that the investigation into the accident will continue tomorrow.

“The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of two prosecutors, with the presence of mechanical and traffic experts. The necessary expert examinations will be conducted with the aim of determining all the circumstances and manner of occurrence of the accident, after which a decision will be made on further procedural actions,” the KS Prosecutor’s Office announced.

The tram derailed in Sarajevo’s Zmaja od Bosna Street, near the National Museum. The force of the impact almost completely destroyed the tram station.

One person was killed and four others were injured in the accident. As previously reported, a 17-year-old girl had her leg amputated as a result of her injuries.
