Action Plan to Increase Number of Environmentally Acceptable Vehicles in B&H is in Process

euro_4_autaAction plan to increase the number of environmentally acceptable vehicles on the roads of B&H is in process, confirmed for Agency Fena, the Ministry of Communications and Transport in B&H.

Minister of Communications and Transport in B&H Damir Hadžić initiated this action plan by the end of last year, through the competent services of the Ministry.

“Through the proposed Action Plan would be conceived a review of measures to be undertaken and would be considered the options available at all the levels of government in B&H when it comes to reducing the harmful effects of traffic on the environment”, said for Agency Fena Zoran Andrić Deputy Minister of Communication and Transport in B&H noting that the development of such plan means involvement of a large number of institutions and organizations, governmental and non-governmental sectors.

“This will be a unique plan for B&H with a clear division of responsibilities towards implementation of activities that would be undertaken in order to have as much as possible a healthier environment for life and work of citizens in B&H”, said Andrić.

Minister of Communication and Transport has signed the initiative that from 1 January 2015 the import of used vehicles to be limited to a minimum of euro 4 standard, after having considering the issue of import and registration of used vehicles in B&H.

“We will inform the public through pres releases with the measures from June, and the ordinance on the type-approval of vehicles, machine parts and equipments in order to be legally regulated is in process”, said Andrić, adding that the current situation is not satisfactory.
