On the day of the liberation of Sarajevo from the siege, Vojvodina activists organized an action which endeavored to draw the attention of the citizens of Novi Sad on this tragic event. In front of you is the content of a newspaper called “The voice of Sarajevo” which the activists of the Vojvodina Civic Center shared to the citizens of Novi Sad.
The newspapers have been specially created for this action, and the citizens of Novi Sad had the opportunity to read more about the four-year siege of the city, as well as how the citizens of Sarajevo survived it. Vojvodina activists used this occasion to draw public attention to the tragic event that killed more than 11,000 people of Sarajevo, of whom 1,601 were children.
“To know, to remember, not to happen again!”, they said.
The basis of the newspaper is texts from the site Fama Collection, which most closely documented the history of the siege of Sarajevo.
