BiH and Sarajevo in September got the world champion in kick boxing. Mirza Pramenkovic returned from the Irish Dublin as the best junior in the world.
Emotions after winning the world gold in Dublin just recently fully settled down.
“The final and semi-final battle especially remained in my memory. The final battle of course because I fought for the title, and I had a special experience in the semi-final, given that under the advice of my team, I did the first two rounds not so great. I was losing in the first two rounds because of this, but I won in the third round and it was a special experience. In the final, I went hard from the beginning,” said Pramenkovic.
“Kick boxing in Sarajevo is widespread and young people love this sport. But they rarely decide to go to the professionals. When it comes to the support from the state – there is none. It takes a lot of resources for food, for training, for equipment, but young people still love this sport,” says Pramenkovic.
BiH will, among other things thanks to result of Pramenkovic, organize the World Cup for seniors in kick boxing in 2019.
“Currently, I am preparing and training for next year. I do not know if there will be any major competitions, because I am not planning to go on competitions where I’ve been already. On the smaller competition. I’ve already got one offer for Hamburg and we will see whether we will realize this. I am ready for any match, any opponent, at any time,” said Pramenkovic and added:
“For one part, it is my merit that this World Cup will be held here. It is a great honor to host such a championship. It is the senior World Championship that will take place in 2019. This is the WAKO organization, the most powerful organization in kick boxing. It will be visited by many world fighters, athletes, coaches. These are some of the best coaches and athletes in this sport. There will be a large number of spectators and it is a big step forward for Sarajevo and BiH,” said Pramenkovic.
His biggest support is his father, which is also his head coach.
“I just want to thank my team, led by my father, who is my head coach. He always supported me, both financially and in any other way,” said Pramenkovic.
