Sarajevo Run Fest 2025, the largest running festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was successfully held today, bringing together more than 2,500 participants from 52 countries around the world. In addition to the Sarajevo Half Marathon, the Festival also hosted the Fitpass 5K race and the Intersport Fun Run, which further enriched the program and attracted runners of all generations. More than half of the competitors were foreigners, confirming Sarajevo’s status as one of the most popular running destinations in the region.
In the men’s competition of the Sarajevo Half Marathon, Adam Lomb from Hungary celebrated with an impressive time of 1:05:48, while in the women’s competition, Natalia Semenovich from Ukraine won with a result of 1:16:59. The title of national champion in the half marathon was taken by Mlađan Samardžić, who crossed the finish line in 1:09:11, while in the women’s competition, the national champion was Dijana Manđeralo with a result of 1:29:24. In the popular Fitpass 5K race, the winners were Berin Mušanović with a time of 15:55 and Dušica Šebez, who ran the course in 21:18.
“I am happy with the race and the results I achieved. The course was excellent, flat, just the way I like it. I had great competition, we followed each other for about nine, ten kilometers, and after that I increased the pace, I was faster. In the end, I can be satisfied with the time achieved,” said the winner, Adam Lomb, after the half marathon race.
A particularly emotional moment of the Festival was the presentation of the “Soul of a Man” award to Emin Alić, who raised the most money for humanitarian purposes through the campaign to purchase kilometers run. This year, the festival sent a strong message of inclusion as professionals, recreational runners, children, people with disabilities and families ran side by side on the course, confirming that running is a sport that belongs to everyone.
Recalling that the festival began yesterday when around 500 children aged 2 to 6 participated in the Crvena Jabuka Market Bambini Marathon, the director of NGO Marathon, Goran Ćorić, emphasized that this year, Sarajevo Run Fest brought even more positive energy and sportsmanship. “We are proud to have gathered more than 2,500 participants, including more than 1,000 half-marathoners. The praise we receive from runners from all over the world confirms that Sarajevo is becoming an unavoidable destination on the running map, and gives us the motivation to continue building this festival as an event that connects sport, community and tourism,” said Ćorić.
This year, Sarajevo Run Fest proved that it is much more than a sports competition. It is an event that unites generations, promotes togetherness and sends a strong message about sport as a bridge between people.
The organization of Sarajevo Run Fest 2025 was supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.
