adnan_catic2Mostar – B&H boxer Adnan Ćatić, fighting in Germany and known by the name Felix Sturm, visited on Wednesday the SOS Family Centre and offered gifts (candies, sneakers) to 50 children.

In his statement for the press, Ćatić said that he decided to visit those children during the holidays and bring some joy to their lives.

“I know exactly how much effort the people in this centre make, and I feel, as a sportsman, it is my duty to help them and those children. Especially children. I have a kid of my own and I know how important it is to help any parent.” – added Ćatić and said that he will continue to help this centre in the future as well.

The social worker Zumreta Humo thanked Ćatić for his help and reminded that he has been helping this centre from the start, 2008 when he donated 10 000 BAM for its construction and equipment.

“We are glad Adnan took the time to come today and play with the little ones. These sneakers will be of great help to them. Soon starts the new school year. We all know the situation is financially difficult for many parents.” – added Humo.

SOS Children’s villages in B&H are implementing since 2008 the Program of consolidating families in their centres in Sarajevo, Goražde and Mostar. This program enables great support to the families.

It is intended to those families recognized as risky by the Family law. Currently, 78 families with 179 children is included in the work of the SOS Family centre in Mostar.
