The Vice-President of the FBiH and the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Forestry Jerko Ivanković Lijanović participated in a meeting on the topic of IPARD structures in Sarajevo, which was organized by the Directorate for European Integration and at the request of the European Commission.

In addition to presenting the structures for IPA projects from the area of rural development, at the meeting they spoke of problems faced by farmers due to the absence of necessary structures at the state level.

In this context, it accentuated the necessity of establishing payment agencies and a governing body in order to facilitate the use of the use of EU funds intended for farmers in BiH.

“The FBiH Ministry for Agriculture, Water and Forestry is requesting that the BiH Council of Ministers and Parliament adopt a strategy of rural development in BiH as soon as possible, and to establish IPARD structures in order to create conditions to maintain the 100 million euros intended for agricultural production in BiH after 2013’’, announced the Vice-President and Minister Ivanković Lijanović.
