After Scandal with Diploma: Izetbegovic announces Criminal Charges against Senate

Director of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Sebija Izetbegović announced that today she will file criminal charges for abuse of position and abuse of authority, for discrimination as well as for telling lies in an attempt to discredit her as a full professor at UNSA.

“This primarily refers to Rector Rifat Škrijelj, but also to all members of his commission if they continue to deliberately and with great bias ignore the findings of the Cantonal Inspection for Higher Education, the Ad hoc Commission of the Faculty of Medicine, as well as the unanimous decision of the Teaching and Academic Council of the Faculty of Medicine UNSA, which irrevocably confirmed that my academic path has been entirely regular.

Rector Rifat Škrijelj persistently conducts a politically motivated witchhunt, thus abusing the position he holds in order to divert the public’s attention from his own disputed academic progress, and especially from the illegally obtained diploma of his political boss Elmedin Konaković, which was proven by an inspection report that was never made available to members of the Senate. – said Izetbegović.

She also claims that the rector is also protecting a certain number of people at UNSA to whom he gave unlawful support in their academic advancement, which is why the FBiH Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation and submitted a report to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office for the criminal offense of “abuse of official position and authority”.

“The unprofessional and aggressive actions of Rector Škrijelj, and all those who follow him in this, will be stopped by the court’s epilogue,” says Prof. dr. Sebija Izetbegović.
