Project Plava Voda balkans.aljazeera.netThe Council of Ministers of B&H signed an agreement by which the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) approves 11 million EU for the project “Plava voda”, which is to ensure water supply for nearly 250,000 inhabitants in the Central Bosnia and the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

The Minister of Finance of B&H Vjekoslav Bevanda thanked the EBRD and the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency (SIDA), that supported this project with two and a half million of grant, and these funds will be appointed to the municipalities for the reduction of water loss and strengthening of utility enterprises.

Moreover, Bevanda also thanked the Delegation of the EU which donated more than a million EUR for the purpose of designing several studies prior to the project, as well as the Government of Germany that donated 70,000 EUR for launching of this project.

“This project is of special significance for residents in municipalities of Travnik, Zenica, Novi Travnik, Vitez and Busovača, who will have a long-term and quality water supply. This project will improve infrastructure and thereby also the business environment in this area,” bevanda said.

Bevanda highlighted that the deadline for repayment is fifteen years including three years of grace period for the repayment of principal, repayment in 24 equal semiannual installments, six-month EURIBOR interest plus 1 percent of mark-up.

“I will highlight that the total value of the project ‘Plava voda’ is estimated to 22 million EUR, and the con-financier is the Development Bank of the Council of Europe with 11 million EUR,” Bevanda concluded.
