The Environmental Protection Fund of FBiH and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will sign on 4 June in Sarajevo the first agreement on co-financing.
The contract relates to support of activities that have long been taken to mitigate and adapt to climate change, or activities that contribute to reducing emissions of carbon dioxide.
These activities, according to UNDP BiH, will determine the national strategy and enable relevant authorities in BiH to bring decisions on strategies and investments in connection with international obligations of the state, development priorities and goals in the context of international and local climate changes.
As part of these activities planned is the development of four design documents for projects of reducing emissions of carbon dioxide and from the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy.
The goal of the cooperation of the FBIH Fund for Environmental Protection and UNDP is a long-term and sustainable building and strengthening the capacity of this fund.
This cooperation will enable the Fund to more effectively meet the obligations to achieve policy and environmental objectives in the FBiH and thus significantly contribute to the improvement of the environmental situation in BIH.
The signing will be held at the UN building and will begin at 10:30.
