An agreement was signed in Sarajevo on consultancy services ‘Preparation and Development of Detailed Design and Documents for Construction Works for Rehabilitation of Sava River Waterway from Belgrade to Brčkog’’. The value amounts to 1.080.250 euros.
The B&H Minister of Transport and Communications Damir Hadžić and representatives of the Consortium VPB Zagreb and Instituta IGH Zagreb signed the agreement, announced the B&H Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Hadžić said that this agreement is financed with grants from IPA fund 2010 for 5,2 million euros, and is administered by the World Bank.
The project would establish better navigability of the Sava river with a length of 344 kilometers through B&H, and would accelerate the transport of goods and improve environmental protection.
By allocating funds from IPA for the carrying out of study and technical documentation as well as for demining the right side of the Sava river, the European Commission confirmed its commitment to financially supporting the development of river transport in B&H and in the region.
