kornisoniDuring the meeting with leaders of purchase stations, and then with subcontractors, the Agricultural Cooperative Agrodar Cazin announced that this year it would export 1.700 tons of gherkins to the German market.

“We have alread agreed for exports in February and we are now undergoing preparations fo implement this plan. We currently have 700 subcontractors, and we will conduct the purchase of gherkins at 70 purchasing stations”, said Director of the Cooperative Aldin Kuduzović.

In Cazin, an increase in the production of gherkins by 30 percent is testament to the fact that there is a greater interest for the production of gherkins.

The growing interest for farmers in the production of cucumbers is necessary to monitor the appropriate training programs in order to achieve better yields and greater income.

Therefore, the Agricultural Cooperative Agrodar, in cooperation with municipal and cantonal institutions, organized a seminar for farmers who will produce cucumbers this year.

Guaranteed purchase, providing necessary raw materials, regular salaries, expert advice and trainings, are the key factors for which it can be argued that the production of gherkins in this area will continue to rise.
