The unexploded air bomb from the Second World War weighing around 250 kilograms was found during the works on the underground telecommunications network in the street of Otockog bataljona in Bosanska Otoka.
Preparations for its deactivation and removal have been going on for several days now, and the members of Federal Civil Protection Administration headed by the Director Fahrudin Solak visited Bosanska Krupa on that occasion. Besides the Mayor Armin Halitovic and the Chief of Police Office Bosanska Krupa Himzo Krupic, the meeting in Bosanska Krupa was also attended by the Prime Minister of Una-Sana Canton Izudin Saracevic and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Una-Sana Canton Senad Kljajic with their closest associates.
At the meeting, the experts from the Federal Civil Protection Administration presented all technical features of the found air bomb, the intended way of removal, and all safety procedures that should be implemented in order to reduce the risk to a minimum.
Given that it is a bomb of great destructive power, extensive preparations are required to be carried out very quickly because the bomb is in the open air and poses a danger to the passers-by and residents of Bosanska Otoka.
