sarajevoThe air in the cities from which the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute (FHMZ) collected data on the 21st of December was highly polluted, and it was same this morning. Unfortunately, synoptic picture does not anticipate significant changes in the upcoming days.

Air in Tuzla, Zenica, Kakanj and Sarajevo is still unhealthy and dangerous for sensitive groups of the population. Citizens with respiratory problems and cardiovascular diseases should be avoiding making efforts. It is recommended for all the people who have the opportunity, to go on trips in the higher areas with fresh air. Considering the length of this situation, these conditions are working in favor of occurrence of respiratory diseases such as asthma, especially in children.

In Canton Sarajevo, the Municipality of Kakanj and Municipality of Zenica episodes of Preparedness are still in force. Relevant institutions will undertake measures in accordance with local plans of intervention measures in cases of excessive pollution.

Main sources of air pollution in the FB&H are households and other objects that are heated using solid fuels, industrial facilities, thermal power plants and traffic, as announced from the FHMZ.
