According to the weather forecast until the end of the day, moderately to mostly cloudy weather is expected, with the appearance of fog and low clouds in the valleys. Maximum daily temperatures will be around 6°C, while light winds of variable direction are expected, with speeds of 1 to 3 m/s.
In the evening hours, conditions for a weak temperature inversion are present, which may adversely affect the dispersion of pollutants.
In accordance with the above meteorological conditions, no significant changes in air quality are expected by the end of the day. Similar conditions will continue in the coming days, causing greater purification of the valleys in the morning hours and during the day, although the weak temperature inversion will persist.
As a result of this, as well as more intensive burning of solid fuels in households, a partial accumulation of harmful pollutants is expected during the afternoon and evening, which will be transient, the Institute of Public Health of the Canton Sarajevo announced.
