Aleksandar Vucic threatens: Serbia will stand by RS, we will not leave you alone

The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated on Friday, February 21st, 2025, that he believes the President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik will receive an acquittal and emphasized that Serbia will never leave the Bosnian-Herzegovinian (BiH) entity RS in the lurch.

Aleksandar Vucic, the cross-border friend of the self-proclaimed “leader from Laktasi,” once again has pretensions to interfere in BiH‘s internal affairs, this time even in judicial decisions.

“I just want to say that I hope and to convey, since I see that dramatic days are unfolding in RS, that I have a message for our people in RS: that we will stand by them, that Serbia will never leave RS in the lurch, and that I am convinced and hopeful that President Dodik will receive an acquittal.

If that does not happen, Serbia will stand by RS,” Vucic said during a visit to the village of Suvajic near Golubac.

The clear messages Vucic is sending, undoubtedly critical of what he refers to as “political Sarajevo,” following the usual pattern and seemingly coordinated with Dodik, are fueling political and social tensions, contradicting his own claims of non-interference in BiH‘s internal matters.

As a reminder, both Vucic and Dodik are going through a period of clear political turbulence.

While students in Serbia are openly demanding a more transparent and democratic government, Vucic is facing a situation that he can no longer dilute with propaganda, in which he is a master in Serbia. Milorad Dodik’s verdict before the Court of BiH is scheduled for February 26th, 2025.
