All Accommodation Facilities are full in Medjugorje

In Medjugorje, all accommodation facilities are full due to the International meeting of young people who come from all over the world to be on spiritual renewal from July 26th to 30th in the Herzegovinian Marian sanctuary, and lodgings are being sought in the surrounding towns.

This information was confirmed by the president of the Association of Tourism, Hotel Industry and Room Renters in Medjugorje, Davor Ljubic.

He points out that all capacities have been filled for a long time, regardless of the fact that the International Youth Meeting in Medjugorje was moved a week earlier this year, due to the World Youth Meeting, which will be held from August 1st to 6thin Lisbon, Portugal, and which will be chaired by Pope Francis.

“Medjugorje is full and these days it will resound with the song and prayer of the young people who come and from all over the world, regardless of the hot summer temperatures, and we can be really satisfied,” said Ljubic.

He points out that every year, before the emergence of the coronavirus, Mladifest gathered between 20 and 30 thousand young people from all over the world, and that according to all parameters, it will not be less this year either.

“During the festival, according to our expectations, close to 100,000 people will pass through Medjugorje, even though this year’s program has been significantly shortened,” said Ljubic.

He points out that until now Mladifest was held from August 1stto 6th, and this year it is from July 26th to 30th, when it ends with an early morning mass in Krizevac due to the departure of young people to Lisbon to meet Pope Francis.

According to him, the arrival of tens of thousands of young people from all over the world is a new victory for Medjugorje, which succeeds in gathering young people not only from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Croatia, but also from Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Ireland, distant United States (U.S.) and Australia, and numerous countries around the world for spiritual renewal.

“We managed to get closer to young people again and offer them something better than a disco or any other entertainment content. At a time when a young man is looking for some other form of entertainment, it is very difficult to attract tens of thousands of people from all over the world to listen to stories from the life of a young man and the church. We succeeded in that and this is a great victory for Medjugorje”, concluded Ljubic.

He reminds that Medjugorje is extremely affordable for many visitors financially, which is very significant, because the story has already spread around the world that the price of accommodation in that place is 35 euros, which is not even enough to eat a pizza in Rome.

The arrival of tens of thousands of young people from all over the world to Medjugorje will undoubtedly spread images of Herzegovina and our country among their friends and acquaintances as well as on social networks, and at the same time promote this region and motivate new guests to visit and get to know BiH, Klix.ba reports.
