The “Zvornik regatta” brought together about a hundred vessels with more than 500 participants who set off on the Drina from Mali Zvornik to Šepko today.

Guests from Germany, France, Norway, and Switzerland took part in the 25-kilometer long regatta called “The Drina is only one.”

In the multi-hour sailing down the Drina, accompanied by music and barbecue on the boats, witnesses of the sailing say that the journey down this river is an unforgettable event.

Among the participants was Danijel Marković from Zurich, who pointed out that he was delighted by the atmosphere at the Drina Regatta.

The mayor of Zvornik, Bojan Ivanović, saw off the participants of the regatta, wishing them a pleasant and fun sailing.

“This manifestation enriches the tourist offer of our city and region and points to the unity of the three cities, Zvornik, Loznica and Mali Zvornik,” Ivanović told reporters.

He expressed his satisfaction that lovers of nature and rivers from the surrounding area, as well as European countries, had gathered.

The start of the regatta was marked by captain Dejan Galić, after which the boats headed downstream towards the Drina towards the beach in Šepko.

Galić said that there are more than a hundred vessels at the “Drina Regatta” and that all safety measures have been taken to ensure that the journey on the river goes smoothly and that the participants reach their destination.

After reaching the finish line in Šepka, lunch and socializing were organized for the participants.

The organizers pointed out that the organization of such events will continue because it shows that the Drina is a true tourist pearl.

The regatta was jointly organized by the cities of Zvornik and Loznica and the municipality of Mali Zvornik, and was held on the eve of the beginning of the 25th “Zvornik Summer”, Srna writes.
