The American company Alaska Airlines grounded all Boeing 737-9 planes, a few hours after a window and part of the fuselage fell from its aircraft during the flight.
The incident happened just after the plane took off from Portland with 174 passengers and six crew members.
According to flight data, the plane reached an altitude of nearly five kilometers before returning to the Portland airport.
The aircraft made an emergency landing in Oregon.
“Following the incident, the decision was made to temporarily ground 63 Boeing 737-0 aircraft as a precaution,” said Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci.
The airline did not say if there were any injuries, but local media reported that there were minor injuries.
