Today will be the 21st edition of the biggest film festival in the region, and the terrain on which the Sarajevo Film Festival will take place has been almost completely prepared.
Sarajevo is slowly getting a festive look and atmosphere that is accompanying them from year to year, which makes great bait for all the lovers of the good movies and all related events this summer in the city on the Miljacka River, that will make August 2015 special.
The Festival Square was set in front of the National Theatre Sarajevo. Works on one of the symbols of the SFF have started in late July, and the stars of the regional and international film scenes will be walking at the red carpet every day of the festival, followed by several thousand visitors.
This year’s Sarajevo Film Festival will host 100,000 curious people and lovers of the seventh art, and the fact that several days of this unforgettable event will be following 2,000 accredited journalists and staff, says enough about the size of the event.
The focus of the SFF will be 259 movies from 57 countries, and the presence of prominent filmmakers, actors and producers will be ensured.
Director Brilliant Mendoza from the Philippines and Atom Egoyan from Canada will attend the festival as well, and they will receive the honorary Heart of Sarajevo. Also, the great actor Benicio del Toro will promote the movie whose main story is set in B&H.
Director Michael Franco will be visiting the capital of B&H for the second time, and besides him, SFF will be attended by Jesuthasan Antonythasan and Kalieaswari Srinivasan, as well as directors László Nemes, Dalibor Matanić, Deniz Gamze Ergüven, Danis Tanović and Jasmila Žbanić.
The beginning of SFF is scheduled for the 14th of August and will last until the 22nd of August, and the films will be competing under the 18 different programs.
