Stranjani Coal Mine Manager Asmir Dug has returned from the interview at the Company’s Management Board and informed the assembly of workers that the Stranjani pit will be closed and all employees reassigned to the remaining two Zenica corner mines – Raspotpcje and Stara Jama.

All the miners left the pit overnight and are waiting for where they will be redeployed. Dug together with the union president, is in talks at the headquarters of the Zenica Brown Coal Mine Board.

According to Amir Fetic, a miner of the third foreigner shift, their colleagues are expected to return from the talks, after which they will know more.

According to the statement of deputy director of coal mines in Zenica, Edin Pasic, all the miners have left the pit and only inspectors are there. “As early as today, we will reassign 165 workers from the facility to the remaining two facilities – Stara Jama and Raspotocje, as we agreed with trade union representatives two days ago,” Pasic said for Avaz newspapers.
