Following the arrival of close to 5.000 participants of the Igman march on the Veliko polje, many delegations laid wreaths and flowers at the Memorial place of the members of the First Proletarian Brigade, which arrived at that place on January 28th in 1942.

The central marking of the 76th  anniversary of Igman march was attended by between 15.000 and 20.000 people, who mostly arrived on the Veliko polje by buses.

This year there was a record number of guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and abroad. Igman march is one of the most important partisan movements in the territory of the former Yugoslavia in the Second World War.

According to the chairman of the Organizing Committee of Igman march, Ibrahim Durmo, about 20.000 people were at the solemnity.

“In the mass, according to ours and police estimates, there were about 4.000 to 5.000 people who walked ten kilometers. We have more people each year, and we are especially thrilled to see a large number of younger population. It is estimated that this year, according to the number of vans and cars, there will be a record visitation on Igman, with around 20.000 visitors, “ Durmo said.

There is no place in BiH, he pointed out, from which the participants of Igman march did not arrive.
