Maureen CormackMaureen Cormack, Ambassador of the USA to BiH, visited today the polling place in East Sarajevo, at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and then the polling place at the Faculty of Economy in Sarajevo.

Ambassador Cormack stated that she is happy to see many people who decided to vote in the local elections.

“Today is the day when citizens exercise the most important right in democratic systems, they choose the candidates for whom they believe are the best for them. I would like to invite all citizens to vote in the elections, to vote for those candidates for whom they believe they will work in the best interest of the citizens,” stated the Ambassador Cormack.

Cormack expressed hope that the rhetoric that could be heard prior to the elections will be reduced and that everyone will return to the issues important for this country.

“For BiH there is a very clear path – the path of Reform Agenda of the EU and moving towards the EU,” Cormack said.

Ambassador Cormack also reminded that the US Embassy has observers throughout BiH who monitor the elections and she hopes that elections will be free and fair.
