Three out of six innovations presented by the Association of Innovators of BiH received awards at the 34th international exhibition of innovations in Belgrade.
At the same time, the National Association of Innovators of Macedonia presented golden medals for “overall contribution to the development of innovativeness” to two members of AIBiH.
Golden medal was awarded to Dr. Fikret Alić, associate professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Tuzla and a fruitful researcher, for the innovation he called “self-adaptive thermal sources”. In simple terms, those are thermal elements that adapt themselves according to the needs of space, time and temperature.
Alić’s fellow citizens and colleague in title and profession Zehrudin Osmanović from the Faculty of Technology received a silver medal for the “Method of production of cement with the use of sludge generated by chemical decantation of salt water”. This is an innovation that enables the transfer of dangerous chemical sludge into useful cement.
Bronze medal was awarded to Borko Babalj from Trebinje who was official representative of the Association at the exhibition, as a member of the Steering Board. He received the award for “hermetic ashtray,” which does not allow the spreading of smoke, smell or any polluting particles such as nicotine. Borko also received the golden medal of the newly founded National Association of Innovators of Macedonia for overall contribution to the development of innovativeness.
This recognition was also given to Husein Hujić, Secretary General of AIBiH and Director General of the World Federation of Innovators’ Organizations.
