Ambassador Namoora: Stopping The Genocide Against The Palestinian People Is A Fundamental Goal For Lasting Peace

The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Rezeq Namoora, emphasized at yesterday’s regular session of Circle 99 that stopping the genocide against the Palestinian people after the achievement of a peace plan, and thus ending the killing, destruction, and terror that has been happening for two years, is certainly a major gain and the achievement of a fundamental goal so that the Palestinian people can finally have peace.

“However, from time to time, we notice what is really happening, and that is the violations of the truce by the Israeli occupier, which so far has resulted in the death of more than 24 people. We also expect that all border crossings will be opened permanently to enable entry and exit, especially for aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,” said Namoora.

He emphasized that hospitals, schools, and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip are destroyed, and that it is necessary to begin their reconstruction as soon as possible so that life in the Gaza Strip can start returning to normal.

Speaking about the peace plan and its political aspect, Ambassador Namoora emphasized that in the document, in none of its 20 points is the State of Palestine or the two-state solution mentioned.

“Also, in Trump’s speech delivered in the Israeli Knesset (parliament), not a single word was said about the State of Palestine or the two-state solution. And here I would like to precisely point out a very important thing, and that is that the Palestinian issue is not only about Gaza. Gaza is not the cause of the Palestinian problem; Gaza is only a consequence of the Palestinian problem,” added Namoora.

He emphasized that the Palestinian issue is, above all, the issue of a people expelled from their homeland. The number of refugees today is more than 7.5 million worldwide, and he reminded that the occupation has lasted since 1967, during which various forms of the most heinous crimes have been committed.

“In this agreement, the issue of governance of the Gaza Strip is also ignored; it is stated in a very vague and unclear way. And certainly, the one who has the right to govern the Gaza Strip as the primary expression of the political will of the Palestinian people is the State of Palestine, of which the Gaza Strip is an inseparable part together with its people,” Namoora believes.

He stated that he is forced to refer to Trump’s words – that Israel did destroy the Gaza Strip, but the Gaza Strip also destroyed Israel’s reputation throughout the world.

Regarding BiH, he emphasized that he would like BiH, as a country that has its own experience in post-conflict reconstruction and institutional unification, to contribute by participating in one of the upcoming conferences dedicated to the reconstruction of Gaza and ways of collecting funds.

Ambassador Namoora thanked all the people around the world who took to the streets of their cities to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and give them support in facing genocide, as well as all the countries that have recognized Palestine since 1988 to this day.

“This is certainly something that will contribute to stabilizing the Palestinian issue and establishing the independent State of Palestine,” concluded the Ambassador of Palestine to BiH, Rezeq Namoora.

“There is no Conflict, but NATO is there just in Case”
