The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations (UN), Zlatko Lagumdžija, congratulated and thanked everyone who participated in making the decision and voting for the UN Resolution, and said that Bosnia and Herzegovina has shown that it can reach an agreement on key issues.
“Together we have shown, after a series of talks and detailed analyzes and assessments, that we know and can function as a team in which the competent institutions, the BiH Presidency and the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs, can respond to key foreign policy challenges,” said Lagumdžija.
Thus, thanks to the principled attitude and teamwork, Bosnia and Herzegovina was among the 120 countries that voted for the Resolution.
“This was just a small step that gives hope that the world, and we ourselves, have not lost our political and moral compass. Good experts in the UN state that the three-day emergency convocation of the General Assembly is one of the most dramatic sessions that ended with the Resolution on the burning planetary issue “, said Lagumdžija.
He added that the voice of 120 countries is a kind of cry on behalf of over two-thirds of the people around the world to immediately stop the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza.
“A call to immediately open the process of building a just and sustainable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that can be achieved by peaceful means based on relevant UN resolutions and in accordance with international law – a solution based on the existence of two states living in peace and security,” Lagumdžija concluded.
