goraždeThe Ambassador of Greece to BiH Karlos Gadis visited municipality Goražde yesterday.

During the meeting with the Mayor Muhamed Ramović and the Chairman of the Municipal Council of Goražde Jelena Mirković, they spoke of the current situation in this local community, the challenges faced, as well as the situation in Greece when it comes to the economic crisis in this country.

Ambassador Gadis became familiar with the situation of the economy, the security situation, and the relation between the municipality with neighboring municipalities, friendly countries, and the relation towards young people and civil society organizations.

“We wish to establish excellent relations with Greece and we see the opportunity of cooperation in the field of tourism and economy. We opened several topics, and one of them is the financing of students to study in Greece. We will be invited at the symposium that is being organized regarding the EU and BIH, current situation and perspectives, as well as at the conference for business people and I think that there is where we have a big chance. I am glad that the Ambassador confirmed that we are an example and that we are taking steps towards success and we are the first local community that will meet all requirements regarding EU accession’’, said Mayor Ramović.

“I am pleased that I was here and I congratulated the Mayor for a wonderful job that he is doing, and we used the opportunity to speak on future cooperation. This was a general discussion on establishing economic and cultural ties. Concrete proposals have to be agreed upon and we will work on them in the next period. I wish to congratulate all citizens of Goražde for their wonderful city and I wish them all the best’’, said Karlo Gadis.
