Ambassador of Oman awarded 400,000 Dollars for Flooded Areas

floods67Ahmed bin Salim Mohamed Ba Omar, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Italy, has awarded donation for flooded areas in BiH in the amount of 400,000 US dollars. The money was handed to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko Lagumdzija.

Lagumdzija expressed gratitude to friendly Sultanate of Oman for the donation and informed the Ambassador with the decision of the Council of Ministers which cancels visas for citizens of the Sultanate of Oman while entering BiH, thus creating conditions for enhancing cooperation in the field of tourism and economic cooperation.

The two agreed that relations between BiH and the Sultanate of Oman are friendly, but that in many segments of the cooperation is not sufficiently developed.

Lagumdzija added that the key sectors in which BiH and Oman can achieve significant trade are in food industry (especially producers of halal and organic products), metal, electrical, commercial, wood and building materials industry.

The officials expressed expectations that contacts between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Oman at all levels will intensify in the coming period, was announced by the Office of Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
