Ambassador of Russia speaks about disintegration of BiH

ivancovAmbassador of Russia to BiH Peter Ivancov, said that the speculations about the possible disintegration of BiH are overreacted, made in order to provoke tensions and to distract public from the real problems.

“In my opinion, speculations about the break up of BiH are not only exaggerated, they often circulate in order to deliberately create tensions in the country. On the other side, those tensions help to distract attention from important issues related to social and economic development, security and radicalization”, stressed Ivancov.

He added that these speculations are often linked to the referendum in the Republika Srpska.

Let me assure you – the authorities of RS are fully committed to implementation of the Dayton agreement, they actively promote them, act strictly in accordance with the principles of democracy and within the local legal framework,” said Ivancov.

Moreover, Ivancov added that the Dayton Agreement, which ended the war in BiH has always been criticized by some forces.

“BiH is functioning on the basis of the existing international legal document that contains all the necessary basic principles. We support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH, decentralization of the decision-making, as well as the basic rules of equality, compromise and consensus among nations that make up the country, “concluded Ivancov.
