In the Republika Srpska, intensive activities are underway regarding the introduction of the “Amber Alert” system for early notification of missing persons, and I believe that all the necessary technical capacities for its launch will be established quickly, said the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska Siniša Karan.

“Intensive activities to introduce this system in Republika Srpska were conducted even before the disappearance of the two-year-old Danka Ilić from Bor, and now they have only been intensified,” Karan pointed out.

Karan emphasized that the media is one of the most important actors in that system.

“Ever since earlier times, from the police point of view, we have acted immediately upon reporting a missing child. It is very important not to wait for a period of 24 hours. In the past period, we have had several situations that we have successfully resolved. It is very important that our MUP there is not a single search for a missing child in Republika Srpska,” Karan added, according to “ATV”.
