On the occasion of the Day of Zenica, March 20, a ceremony of presenting the awards of the city will be held in Zenica. Among the laureates is the BiH athlete Amel Tuka.
By the decision of the Panel of judges for public recognition of the city of Zenica, the “Award of Zenica” will be presented to the BiH athlete Amel Tuka for extraordinary sports results, affirmation and promotion of Zenica and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Europe and the world.
Around 40 proposals were submitted to the previously published competition and Tuka stated that this is one of the most significant awards for him.
“I must say that I am really honored with this decision of the panel of judges. This recognition is of great significance for me given that it is the recognition of the city and me being an honorary citizen feels very special,” Tuka stated.
Other winners of the Award of Zenica are the Spiritual Youth Band “Novo nebo” for the contribution in the development of spiritual music culture and gathering of young musicians, Sabina Husić for results achieved in humanitarian work and selfless support and care for women and children who are victims of war and domestic violence, and Salih Jaliman for the contribution to scientific, professional and pedagogical work and historical research of the past of the City of Zenica.
