The Regulatory Commission for Energy in the Republika Srpska today did not reach a decision on the request by the dependent enterprises of “Elektroprivreda RS” to increase the price of electrical energy.
It was announced that old requests for increasing the price of electricity and the new facts that have not been previously taken into consideration will be considered at one of the coming sessions.
Secretary of the Regulatory Commission Aleksandar Jegdić said that expert services have been tasked to prepare all materials, including additional request analyses, in the coming period. The Regulatory Commission will use that data as a basis for reaching decisions in the repeated tariff procedure. Last year, the Commission withdrew its decision on increasing the price of electricity in the RS which was to become effective on July 1, 2015.
The oppositionists were against the decision then, too, as well as businessmen in the RS, while the authorities claim that even after the price increase the electricity in the RS will still be cheaper in comparison with the countries in the region.
The Alliance for Changes (Savez za promjene) announced that they will oppose the electricity price increase with all available democratic means.
