The Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina states that from June 15 to 19, a planned observation flight will be carried out over the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the framework of the “Open Skies” Agreement, which the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo International Airport, will conduct for the Republic of Turkey, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Slovak Republic.
The observation flight will be carried out by an aircraft from the Turkish Air Force. The territory will be photographed using sensors certified in accordance with the provisions of the agreement, after they have been inspected by competent specialists of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The exact time of implementation and the trajectory of the observation flight will be agreed upon during joint preparations, after the delegation arrives at Sarajevo International Airport.
The “Open Skies” Treaty is one of the security arrangements that allows member states to record the territory of the country over which an observation flight is being conducted, with the aim of obtaining data on military forces and their activities, the BiH Ministry of Defense announced.
