Analysis: Average Monthly paid Earnings, Unemployed and Employed Persons in May

In May 2018, the average monthly gross earning per person in employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 1.371 KM, , which represented the nominal increase of 2,3% as compared to December 2017.

In comparison to May 2017 the average monthly gross earnings for the May 2018 was nominally by 2,6% higher.

In May 2018, the average monthly paid off net earning per person in employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 881 KM, which represented the nominal increase of 2,2% as compared to December 2017.

In comparison to May 2017 the average monthly paid off net earnings for the Mayl 2018 was nominally by 2,5% higher.

In May 2018 the number of registered unemployed in BiH amounted to 450.067.

If we take 2016 as a base year (2016 = 100) and compare May 2018 with the same month of 2017, we will notice that the number of unemployed decreased by 7,2 index points, or in absolute terms the number of people registered as unemployed decreased by 37.359.

If we compare registered unemployed by qualification structure, we will notice that the largest number of unemployed are highly skilled and skilled by 148.076 followed by those with a high school diploma by 124.755 and unskilled by 125.163.

The lowest number of unemployed are those with higher education by 6.561, followed by those with university education by 36.692 (including PhDs and Masters).

The share of female population in registered unemployed amounted to 55,1% or in absolute terms 248.091 females.

In the female population, the largest number of unemployed are those with secondary education by 78.064, then those unskilled by 70.584 and those with highly skilled and skilled qualification by 65.852 females.
