Analysis: Number of Tourists in the First Six Months

In the period from January – June 2018 tourists realized 639,558 tourists arrivals which represent the increase by 13.8% and 1,301,091 overnight stays which is increase by 15.3 as compared to the same period of 2017.

The number of domestic tourist nights increased by 15.4% and the number of foreign tourist nights increased by 15.2% as compared to the same period of 2017. Domestic tourist’s share ofa total number of overnight stays was 31.5% and foreign tourists share was 68.5%.

Concerning the structure of foreign tourist nights, most of them (63,4%) were realised by tourists from Croatia (15.9%), Serbia (10.5%), Turkey (7.4%), Slovenia (6.1%), Germany (4.8%), Italy (4.8%), Poland (3.5%) and China, USA and United Arab Emirates ( by 2.8%). Tourists from other countries realised 36,6% of tourist nights.

Regarding the average detention of foreign tourist stays, on the first place comes Kuweit with an average stay of 3.5 nights, Qatar and Ireland by 3.4 nights and the United Arab Emirates and Holand by 2.9 nights.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the highest number of nights was recorded in Hotels and similar accommodation with share of 91.8%.
