Unemployment and Wages in B&H oslobodjenje.baThe number of unemployed citizens in Canton Sarajevo is constantly decreasing, and we expect this trend to be continued in the future, said Midhat Osmanbegovic, the Director of Employment Services of CS.

According to him, there has been made a step forward in reducing unemployment in the last 15 months.

“The number of unemployed in September of this year in comparison to the same period last year decreased by 4 %, so these indicators are making us optimistic that the situation is getting better. Regardless of our regular programs, more and more employers are sending queries and searching for workers, which further encourage us to slowly come out of the crisis,” said Osmanbegovic.

Also, he emphasized the great support of the Government of CS and Minister Amela Dautbegovic, with whose assistance nearly 1,000 interns got employed this year alone through two programs. Osmanbegovic announced new projects that will provide long-term employment and stay of interns at work after completion of their internships.

“Only few interns stay on the work after finishing a one-year internship. We see the solution in seeking for business partners who are engaged in production to achieve a common long-term cooperation, in which we can employ several hundred people. We are planning such projects as well,” stated Osmanbegovic.
