Anesa Kajtazović Candidates for U.S. Congress

anesaBosnian Anesa Kajtazović, Member of Parliament of the State of Iowa, has announced candidacy for the U.S. Congress. She informed many friends about it by e-mail.

She said that as a candidate of the Democratic Party intends to take a seat in the federal parliament of the U.S. that was left vacant after Congressman Bruce Braley announced that will leave the duty.

Kajtazović is 27 years old and since 2010 is in the parliament of Iowa. Thus, she became the youngest woman ever elected to the highest legislative body of the United States.

She says that back than she visited personally more than 7.000 households and conducted more than 2.000 telephone interviews and at the end she resulted with 59 percent of the votes.

“I candidate for the Congress and the place for the first district in Iowa, because I believe that government has to make a better life for population. Washington needs leaders who will make the necessary transformation and bring new perspectives to address delays and reforms that are significant and important for the middle class population. I live and breath all the values ​​of the middle class, and you can rely on me that I will work hard to ensure that all residents of Iowa get opportunities and chances that they deserve”, stated Kajtazović.

In the competition for a seat in Congress Kajtazović enters with four other candidates from the Democratic Party. The one who gets the most votes on the so-called primary election goes to the general election and if he/she wins, get the job vacancy in Congress.

Kajtazović graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a double degree in business and public administration.

She was born on 30 August in 1986 in Bihać, later lived in Šumatac in Velika Kladusa. She left Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war. The life path of Kajtazović family took her to the United States.
