Angela Merkel and Vladimir Putin recently discussed the Situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina

A few days ago, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir, German Chancellor Angela Merkel mentioned Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), among other burning topics.

In a conversation held five days ago, Merkel and Putin emphasized the need to preserve the stability of BiH.

Talks on the political situation in our country have intensified in recent months, and we assume that one of the topics could have been the election of a new High Representative.

Besides that, they discussed the situation in the Ukrainian region of Donbas and the need to reduce the Russian presence on the border with Ukraine, which Chancellor Merkel insisted on. Also, Putin and Merkel discussed the humanitarian situation in Syria and welcomed the establishment of transitional state institutions in Libya.

Certainly, BiH is once again attracting the attention of world leaders, which, considering the current situation in the country, such as negotiations on changing the Election Law, calls for the separation of the state by the SNSD leader, Croatia’s open engagement and interference in BiH’s internal affairs, and actions of the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Janez Jansa, which remain unclear, is not negligible.

It is obvious that the current negotiations on the Election Law are of much greater importance and are partly the reason for putting BiH back in the focus of regional policy, Klix.ba writes.
