Anniversary of the Crime against Croats in Uzdol

The 31st anniversary of the crime against the Croats of that region was marked by laying wreaths and lighting candles in the Memorial Center in Uzdol in the municipality of Prozor/Rama.

The Holy Mass for the Uzdol victims was led by Reverend Marko Zubak, canon of the Stonal Chapter of Vrhbosan. Then there was a prayer (funeral) for all those killed in the Memorial Center.

Members of the RBiH Army, as part of the “Neretva 93” operation, killed 29 civilians of Croatian nationality and 12 members of the HVO.

Enver Buza, the commander of the Prozor Independent Battalion of the Army of the Republic of BiH, which participated in the operation, was sentenced to death for this crime. The families of those killed believe that justice was not served by that verdict because none of the perpetrators was punished.

A large number of Uzdol residents, today mostly displaced, remembered the 41 victims of the crime. The oldest was 87, and the youngest was only 10 years old.
