Banja Luka marked the 34th anniversary of the death of 12 Banja Luka babies at the then Clinical Center.
A memorial service was held and flowers were laid at the monument to the 12 babies at the New Cemetery, and wreaths and flowers were laid at the “Life” memorial.
Let us recall that in May and June 1992, the UN Security Council banned international flights, even those with oxygen tanks, from Belgrade to Banja Luka, which led to the death of 12 newborn babies in incubators.
The date of commemoration of this event is May 22, because on that day in 1992, the first of the 12 babies died due to lack of oxygen, and the rest died by June 19 of that year.
