Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, officially filed a criminal complaint on Thursday, May 21, to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovinaagainst the Deputy Minister of Security, Ivica Bošnjak, and the Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija.
In the complaint, Elmedin Konaković stated that Bošnjak and Tegeltija unlawfully made the decision to open a temporary border crossing in Bosanska Gradiška after a part of the old bridge over the Sava River collapsed at the existing one, thereby violating the Rulebook and the Law on Border Control and abusing their official positions.
Previously, the ITA Governing Board did not give its consent to amend the Rulebook on the Internal Organization of the ITA, which was a requirement for opening the new border crossing.
Following that, Bosniak ministers in the Council of Ministers of BiH refused to vote in favor of temporarily opening the new border crossing due to the bridge collapse.
As a reminder, the Vice President of the Bosnia and Herzegovina entity Republika Srpska, Ćamil Duraković, and Minister Adnan Delić also filed criminal complaints on Wednesday, May 20.
