The Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Vojin Mitrovic, and the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic, signed the Agreement in Belgrade yesterday regarding the project “Hydrotechnical and dredging works on the development of the critical sector for navigation – the mouth of the Drina and the Sava”.

This agreement regulates the method of financing and preparation of project-technical documentation, management of administrative procedures for environmental impact assessment, issuance of location conditions, and approvals and construction permits for this project.

“We are directed towards Serbia”

Minister Mitrovic expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Council of Ministers of BiH and pointed out that he hopes that cooperation will continue in future projects as well, with the support, as before, of President Vucic and the Government of Serbia.

”We are directed towards Serbia and in the previous period, Serbia has shown that it takes care of the people across the Drina river,” Mitrovic said.

Serbia dedicated to investments

As Minister Momirovic emphasized, Serbia will continue to be committed to investments in BiH.

”On the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway, we are already at an advanced stage on the section between Kuzmin and Sremska Raca, the bridge is practically finished, and in the coming days, work will begin from Bijeljina to the Sava, which the Government of the Republika Srpska (RS), with the direct initiative of President Vucic, helped and supported with around one hundred million euros,” emphasized Serbian Minister Momirovic.

The project is implemented with the support of the European Investment Bank and the European Commission through approved grants for the preparation of project documentation as well as for investments in construction works. The total value of the Project is estimated at 9 million euros.

After the signing of the Agreement, a bilateral meeting was held, Vijesti.ba reports.
