The Council of Parents and the School, in cooperation with the Council of Teachers, made a decision to ban the bringing and use of cell phones in Elementary School Čerin in Čitluk.
If a student brings a cell phone to school for a valid reason (illness or other valid reason), he is obliged to inform the teacher, class teacher and duty teacher before the start of classes, the school explains.
If a student’s cell phone is found, it is confiscated and handed over to the school secretariat, and the principal is informed.
The confiscated cell phone can only be collected by the child’s parent, who, when collecting the cell phone, is informed of the issued warning for violating the school’s house rules, which, according to the Rulebook on disciplinary responsibility, results in a reduced grade for the student.
“Bila” elementary school in Vitez was the first in BiH to ban the use of cell phones during the stay of children and teachers at school in order to encourage greater socialization among students and prevent juvenile delinquency, which often appears on social networks and encourages violence among young people.
Recently, an initiative was submitted to the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH regarding the drafting of regulations that would prohibit the use of mobile phones and tablets during classes in all primary and secondary schools in the Federation of BiH, except in situations where use is necessary for educational, medical and other justified reasons.
