Antiterrorist Exercise of the MIA RS and Serbia not to be held on the Border of BiH?

Antiterrorist exercise of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia and the Ministry of Interior of the RS, which is scheduled for the 28th of August, will not be held at the Border Crossing Sepak – Trbusnica, but it will be moved deeper into the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as announced from the Ministry of Security of BiH.

In fact, according to the Minister of Security Dragan Mektic, the Ministry of the Interior of RS and the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia sent a written notice to the Ministry of Security of BiH, in which was stated that the location of maintenance of the exercise has been changed, and that it will not be held in the border area of BiH.

“There is a legal basis for the maintenance of such exercises, not only between agencies in BiH and Serbia, but all the countries in Southeast Europe. Police Cooperation Convention for South East Europe, which was signed by all countries, includes joint trainings, educations, performing the exercises and other activities. This exercise was problematic because it was announced to be held exactly at the border crossing. The location was changed and I have no need to take any decisions,” said Mektic.

To recall, as announced by the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, the exercise will be performed by members of the Special Antiterrorist Unit of MIA RS, Special Antiterrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia. Location of the exercise is not known.
