April Consumer Basket in BiH Totals 3,168 BAM

The trade union consumer basket for April 2025, according to the calculation of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, amounts to 3,168.90 BAM.

The average salary paid in the Federation of BiH for the month of February 2025 was 1,525 BAM, which means that the coverage of the trade union consumer basket by the average salary is 48.12 percent. The minimum salary is 1,000 BAM, and the consumer basket is covered by only 31.56 percent.

When creating the trade union consumer basket, the average salary paid in the Federation of BiH was taken into account, as well as the minimum living expenses of a four-member family consisting of two adults and two children, one of whom is in high school and the other in elementary school.

According to the percentage of participation in the trade union consumer basket, the most money is allocated for food – 44.85 percent, for housing and utilities – 13.65 percent; hygiene and health maintenance – 9.38 percent; education and culture – 10.10 percent; clothing and footwear – 11.36 percent; transportation – 4.35 percent and household maintenance – 6.31 percent.

In the food category, prices from three shopping centers for 86 items were used. When it comes to hygiene and health maintenance, costs for ten items were included, and for housing and utilities, costs for six items, the Information Service of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
