Arcelor Mittal Prijedor has suspended operations. This decision was made due to the temporary suspension of production in the company Arcelor Mittal Zenica, which is the sole customer of the company from Prijedor.

The press release states that Arselor Mital from Zenica has suspended production due to the bad conditions prevailing in the steel market.

“After careful consideration and evaluation of all available options, on November 11th, the operation of the blast furnace was temporarily suspended, after which production was successively suspended in other facilities as well. Production in the rolling mills was suspended on November 2nd. As Arcelor Mittal Zenica is our only customer, we at Arcelor Mittal Prijedor were forced to temporarily suspend the work process,” the announcement states.

The company Arcelor Mittal Prijedor states that in cooperation with the union organization of this company, they are considering all options related to the status of workers.

“Our common goal is to find the best possible solutions for our employees during this period”, they announced and added that they hope that market conditions will stabilize as soon as possible, which would enable the start of the production process, Biznis Info reports.
