Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH, Ismir Jusko, stated that the realization of the road Foca-Scepan Polje, in the length of 21 kilometers, should cost between 69 and 71 million EUR.
After meeting with the President of the Deputies Club of the SNSD in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of BiH Stasa Kosarac and the Mayor of Foca, Radisav Masic, he stated that he talked with the Minister of Transport and Maritime Affairs of Montenegro, Osman Nurkovic, and that he proposed to jointly start the project of merger of BiH and Montenegro in Scepan Polje.
“At the same meeting, I got the answer that Montenegro is fully prepared to go towards BiH and that the same is expected from our side. I attended several meetings with representatives of the RS and parliamentarians from the RS and we got their full support,” said Minister Jusko.
“European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc supported these projects earlier and we have a reason to be optimistic and ask for funds from them in the process of realization of this project. The financing of the bridge will be paid by Montenegro, and BiH will pay for its part,” noted Minister Jusko, and added that he is hoping for positive news from Brussels when it comes to the realization of this project.
The Mayor of Foca, Radisav Masic, stated that the road Scepan Polje-Foca is in a very bad condition, because no money was invested in it for more than 20 years, and he noted that this road represents the shortest road connection between Podgorica and Sarajevo.
According to him, this road also represents a large economic capacity, considering that more than 30,000 tourists pass through it in one season.
He also added that they introduced Jusko with a new road that would enable rafters who are coming to Foca not to cross to Montenegro, which will further improve rafting tourism.
