Representative of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina(FBiH) Parliament Salko Zildzic, who was arrested on September 18th in Serbia, yesterday entered into an agreement on the recognition of a criminal offense with the High Prosecutor’s Office in Uzice, his lawyer Ljubisa Radulovicconfirmed.

According to the agreement, the defendant was sentenced to house arrest for one year. The lawyer added that the agreement should be confirmed by the High Court in Uzice.

If the court confirms the agreement, Zildzic will be released from custody, and it is expected that the confirmation will follow “in a short period of time”, Radulovic pointed out.

It is expected that Zildzic will be extradited to BiH.

“According to the Criminal Code of BiH, Zildzic can redeem that sentence,” said Radulovic.

Earlier, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office from Uzice announced that it launched an investigation against Zildzic “due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of illegal production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosive substances”, based on the Criminal Code.

The prosecution stated that Zildzic was interrogated in the pre-investigation procedure as a suspect at the Bajina Basta police station, where he presented his defense.

To recall, on September 20th, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced that members of the Border Police of Serbia found an honorary identification card (ID) of the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH (OSA) in the possession of Salko Zildzic, a member of the Parliament of the FBiH, during the control at the border crossing.

However, Zildzic‘s lawyer previously told that there is no ID from the Intelligence and Security Agency of BiH, allegedly found with Zildzic.

Salko Zildzic is a representative in the Parliament of the FBiHand serves as the president of the City Committee of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Tuzla. Previously, he was the president of the SDA Youth Association.
