pomoziAssociation Pomozi.ba is donating a total of 10,000 iftar dinners for Syrian refugees.

Iftars will be prepared in the kitchen in the Turkish province of Kilis, after which they will be divided into different camps in Syria.

“Iftar are for refugees in camps in Syria, according to the information that we received from the IHH kitchen in Kilis, in which iftars will be prepared and then distributed in Syria. I do not know exactly which camps but after delivery of iftars, we will have more information from the field,” said Elvir Karalic, founder of the association Pomozi.ba.

“This is the same organization that we delivered the funds three years ago. The funds were transferred to them through our partner organization Solidarnost from Bihac and in these few days, until the end of Ramadan, these 10,000 iftars will be delivered to people in the camps,” said Karalic.

The value of donations for iftars is around 40,000 BAM. These are the funds that were mainly collected at the end of last year when they were doing a big humanitarian campaign for refugees.

He also recalled the convoy with help for the Syrians from three years ago which, according to Karalic, was probably the first convoy with aid from BiH that went to some war-torn country.

“We reached a figure of about 15,000 iftars. Therefore, 10,000 iftars that are paid for refugees and about 5,000 iftars here in BiH that we organized in around 20 smaller towns and villages in BiH. Also, we have delivered more than 6,000 meals for socially vulnerable categories. Moreover, about 1,000 packages with hygiene and food supplies were divided as well, “said Karalic.

According to him, they will fulfill their promise until the end of Ramadan, and that is to help 30,000 people during this holy month.

They are planning to make iftar for miners of mines Kakanj and Breza on Friday. Also, one truck of aid, mainly hygiene products, will be sent in the upcoming days to Serbia for refugees who are still crossing this area.
