[wzslider autoplay=”true”] Preparations for the execution of EUFOR’s exercise “Quick response 2016”, which will be held at the military polygon of AF BiH on Manjaca near Banja Luka from the 30th of September to the 5th of October, are in full swing.

More than 750 soldiers from EUFOR, the AF BiH, the United Kingdom, Austria and soldiers from the Portuguese and Hungarian troops of the Tactical reserve forces of EUFOR from the NATO mission KFOR will participate in this exercise, which will be combination of joint training of AF BiH and their international partners, as well as an annual review of the ability of EUFOR to assign their reserve forces to be ready in case that BH authorities ask for their help.

The first group of 120 British troops arrived on the 25th of September, and they will be placed in the training area of AF BiH, when the convoy of vehicles will be moving north to a large area of AF BiH for regional exercises close to the barracks, “Mika Bosnic” on Manjaca.

The arrival of the first of three cargo aircrafts “Antonov 124” was recorded on the 26th of September, which brought 30 vehicles that British troops need for exercise. In each flight on the Sarajevo International Airport will arrive about ten vehicles with cargo. By its weight, “Antonov 124” is the second airplane in the world, and it can deliver 150 tons of cargo, making it the perfect tool for fast transport of vehicles all across the country. This strategic transport capacity enables the Reserve forces of EUFOR from UK to assign forces on short notice in response to the request of BH authorities.

Depart of six groups of vehicles from the base “Filmski grad” in Pristina in Kosovo was recorded as well. Groups are consisted of Portuguese and Hungarian troops of the Tactical reserve forces of EUFOR from KFOR and they will arrive at Camp Butmir in Sarajevo on the 29th of September, and then continue their trip towards Manjaca, near Banja Luka.

The total number of soldiers who will participate in the exercise is 750, with more than 70 vehicles and associated equipment that will be used at this major annual exercise. This is the first time that EUFOR and Armed Forces of BiH, together with the European nations that are involved as well, have the opportunity to have an exercise at the battalion level, as announced from the EUFOR.
